Did you know that you can begin to change the energy of your day/life in just 17 seconds?
You can. Really? I know some days that may seem more doable than others but you really do have the power to do it.
How I hear you asking?
Well it is like this. Last week I posted on morning intentions, and how they are a great way to start your day, and they are. However, there is a really good reason why, and this 17 seconds is it.
You see, when you have a thought and you think about that thought for about 17 seconds, it begins to attract a similar feeling thought. What does that mean?
Say for example you begin to think about going to the beach, that might feel like a nice thought to you and as you think about it you begin to like the idea. As you hold that thought you then begin to think that Julie may want to come with you, oh and you could invite Toni, we could even stop off and get some lunch on the way. Hey, we could make a weekend of it and stay the night. That would be fun, etc, etc. You get my point.
One thought leads to the next and the next. The energy around that thought begins to build and what you are thinking about begins to become more realistic to you.
In fact, if you have that thought for a consistent 17 seconds it has the same energy and effect as 2000 action hours. That is as much as you would spend at work in a year.
Now there is a problem with this.
At about the half way point, around 8 seconds, most of us begin to waver, we turn the direction of our thought into why we can't, won't, shouldn't or couldn't have, be, or do whatever it is we were thinking about.
For example, if we are thinking about the beach again, we may move to "oh, it might rain on the weekend" or "Ah, no-one will want to go anyway" even the old faithful "eh can't be bothered".
The minute these backward thoughts kick in, we need to start out 17 seconds all over again.
But there is good news
When we hold these good thoughts for 17 seconds and they attract more good thoughts and we hold them for the full 17 seconds, we add 10x the power to them. That's right at 34 seconds we have the same energy as 20 000 action hours. Pretty cool huh?
Now of course if you get all the way to 51 seconds, you now have 200 000 action hours at play.
And if you can hold this pure, focused, clean thought for just over 1 minute, 68 seconds, you will have the power of over 2 million action hours on your side.
Bet you didn't know you were that powerful.
Just by setting your intentions in the morning, by focusing on how you intend you day to go, by getting excited about it, by being in the flow and expecting good things to come your way, you begin a powerful and creative process that flows more and more good into your life.
Your thoughts really are that powerful.
Don't believe me? Or just not sure it is that powerful?
Try this experiment.
When you get up tomorrow morning, spend a moment or 17 thinking about yellow cars. That is it just think about them. Know they exist. Then when you go out into the world, count how many yellow cars you see.
I did this just the other week and in one day I saw 18 yellow cars. 18, that is a lot considering I did not go out of my way to find them and didn't do all that much driving. I even seen the last one on an ad on t.v.
When you start to focus on something, it starts to show up in your world.
It has to do with a really cool part of your brain called the reticular activator.
Oh, more about that next time.
Go play with some yellow cars and have fun playing with your 17 second morning intention.
I would love to hear how you go.
Be Blessed.

Morning Intention
Hello my Lovely,
It has been some time since I have been here. I have been lost in Facebook land, but now I am back. No, I have not given up on Facebook, I just have more to say, more to share and this feels a better platform to do that. So I hope you come along for the ride and enjoy the content.
I wanted to talk a little today about Morning Intention. It is something I have practiced for quite some time but I am not sure everyone is on board. Which one of the following are you?
Morning Intention can be lots of things. For some it is prayer, for some it is meditation and for some it is exercise and for some it only involves the morning news and a strong cup of coffee.

Morning Intention can be lots of things. For some it is prayer, for some it is meditation and for some it is exercise and for some it only involves the morning news and a strong cup of coffee.
How you start your day is how you live your day. So if you are the one waking up saying good God it's morning, you may be struggling to get going, get positive and to start feeling good. Now I have to confess, I have never really been a morning person. I would have been fine if my day started at lunch time and ended at 1 am, but that has changed and is still changing for me. If this is you, that is okay, I am not going to tell you what time you should get up or go to bed for that matter, it the intention that it starts with that matters.
Regardless of the time you rise... let the first words that run through your mind, heart and mouth be... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
Starting the day with the intention of gratitude is so very powerful.
I am blessed to be able to now give myself some time at the start of each day that is just for me. This is so important to me and was the reason I stayed up until 1 in the morning. However, that always put me last on the list, now I put me first. I start the day with me.
I use the first 30 - 40 minutes to move my body, still my mind and allow my creative energy to start flowing.
During this time I listen to wisdom. For me this is people I find inspirational, informative and educational. I may pick some of my favourite friends like Dr Wayne Dyer, Cheryl Richardson, Gabrielle Bernstein or I may choose a ted talk or something someone has shared with me. Again, this is a way to distract my brain from the fact that my body is exercising.
I will meditate, and allow myself to be silent, listening to my inner guidance and Divine wisdom. Then offer my intention for the day ahead.
I also journal, allowing words, pictures and whatever else to flow onto the page before me.
How do you start your day?
Have you even thought about it?
Do you do something to honour yourself first?
Do you need that caffeine hit to even get moving?
So now you know how I spend my morning, I want to talk more about the intention. I have had a few people saying, "How do you do it?", "What do you say?", etc. Well it is easy and the words just need to be yours. I have popped below some of the things I say as I speak to the Universe/God/Great Spirit/Higher Self, whatever it is you want to talk to. My suggestion is you make it all about you, about how you would like to feel that day, what you would like to draw to you that day and what magic you can create that day. Your words, your feelings, your intentions.
My intention for today is to walk in the light.
I leave behind any traces of darkness and move forward with ease and grace.
The path ahead of me is blessed and is so clear, bright and sparkly I can't possibly miss it.
I take the light with me today and it touches each soul that I encounter, leaving them feel blessed and loved.
Today I am guided as to where to go, what to say and to whom. I open my mind and my heart and fill them both with light.
Today I am the best version of myself.
Only good lies before me.
I am blessed.
Thanks again for being here, back at my blog, I will be back more regularly so please pop over and check things out.
Be Blessed
